Music and films carry so much motivation and inspiration, but most of us fail to use the motivation or inspiration because we view music and films as just entertainment.
That’s why i wrote this article, so that i can breakdown and interpret the meaning behind this song.
This song is about transformation, self-discovery, and overcoming one’s own limits.
Realize that you are the one who does the limiting, and you are the only one who can change this.
“There before the threshold, I saw a world beyond myself”
Beyond your limiting beliefs there’s a stream of opportunities and possibilities that will seem unobtainable until you try.
Your limiting beliefs are your threshold, whatever that’s out there for you can only be reached by you pushing beyond that threshold.
It doesn’t matter how you feel about yourself, you have to take chances because you grow through your actions and the amount of risks you take.
Every level in life has a threshold, the challenges never stop—why should you?
“And in my hour of weakness, you were there to see my courage fail”
There’s always that part of you that’s negative, that part of you that’s lazy and hates change.
Just like the people who doubt you, they will hope that you fail so that they can say, “I told you” because they hate change.
Expand your comfort-zone, have confidence in yourself, trust in your abilities, and believe that anything is possible.
Even if you have no clue what you are doing, just keep going.
Think of all the success you can have, right after you take that one chance, that one risk.
“For the years have been long, and you taught me well to sit and wait”
Time will pass you by if you listen to that part of you that wants to wait for things to happen.
People will tell you to wait and be patient because they want to make you feel better.
If you wait too long, you will find yourself exactly where you were a decade ago.
Go out and fail, get your own brand of reality and make whatever you make of it.
“Planning without acting, steadily becoming what I hate”
You can think as much as you want but all you end up with is, “thoughts.”
You become all the things you hate when you procrastinate.
When you make excuses you become the result of your own excuses.
You will think you’re making progress when you have ideas, but you’re actually regressing every minute you fail to act on those ideas.
Your ideas will turn into fantasies if you don’t take action, keep thinking and see how far you get.
“I have always known you, you have always been there in my mind”
Fear has always been in our minds.
Like I always say, everything is there for a reason and fear is one of those things.
You can either use it to your advantage or be used by it.
If you keep doing the things you’re afraid of, eventually, the fear turns into pleasure.
I think what makes fear powerful is the attachment to outcome and also the amount of value we put on those things we want.
When you put less value on something, it becomes easy to get and easy to deal with.
It’s easy to deal with anyone or anything that has no value—the opposite is also true.
But when you put less value on yourself, you won’t have no respect for yourself or appreciation for the man that you are.
Put the highest value on yourself and less on the rest.
You’re the prize.
Be comfortable in your own skin, no matter what level of achievement you reach or don’t, you should still be able to smile at the man in the mirror.
“But now I understand you, and I will not be the part of your designs”
As soon as you start seeing things for what they are, you will no longer be part the fantasies and beliefs.
Change your mindset and turn your life around today, right now.
Check yourself, look at your actions and question them.
Know yourself first before getting to know anyone else because you have to choose people according to your values and standards.
You will lose interest in certain people and things once you realize what they’re all about.
Master your body and mind and take things form there.
“I know who I am now. And all that you’ve made of me”
Before I became the man that I am today, I was a lost punk.
I had values but I would always compromise them on different occasions.
I’ve learned my lessons…
I educated myself and from that point, I was able to see what the voice had made of me, which was good because clarity is power.
I’m not there yet, but I have clarity now, and I know where I’m going.
The best way to know yourself is to read and educate yourself on the subjects you lack the most.
If you are into business, don’t just read one book on the subject, read ten books or more and get different views and insights from the people who’ve done it.
From there, choose the best guy to listen to until you get to that level.
For example, I would buy any book by Rollo Tomassi, Robert Glover, Victor Pride (books on the sidebar) and Alan Roger Currie because these guys are not only great writers, “they know what they are talking about.”
You don’t have to listen to everything a good mentor says.
But when you read any article or a book, make use of the tips and ideas that catches you, the ones that resonates with the man you are or the man you’re becoming.
It’s those words from the books that you read often, that will shape you into the man you never thought you could be.
Now it’s the time.
